Japan has created many world class products and services ranging from cars to food exports that are used all over the globe. One of if not the most important exports (at least to me) is anime. Anime is an animated series, that is all there is to it, but do not be deceived: there are so many great things that come, have come and will come from anime. Anime is being watched and enjoyed from all over the world by young and old. Many friendships have been made and many friendships broken debating over some of anime’s hardest philosophical questions; such as: who is the ultimate waifu.

Now this is a topic that I will get into another time, but while we are on the topic…. let’s talk about anime and all of the greatness that comes with it. Anime has been around since 1917 and is still insanely popular in Japan and even in the rest of the world. Throughout history there have been many greats and there are a few giants that are still airing to this day.

This is the ultimate question that (almost) nobody knows the answer to. This question has ended friendships faster than the speed of sound. The question is, what is the best anime? Here a lot of factors into the play, ranging from animation to plot. This is exactly why it is so hard to answer that question (and because everybody has a different taste). A lot of people will instantly think: ‘’Attack on Titan, Dragonball, Naruto, Demon Slayer’’ are the best anime ever. And while these anime are good and deserve their own article, they do not live up to the title of ‘’best anime ever’’ (my boss feels the need to say he thinks my opinion is degenerate here pointing out how this is a friendship breaker). Now I hear you thinking: ‘’then what is the best anime?’’ and let me tell you that I have come to answer that question.

You are probably wondering how I know the answer and why you should agree with what I am going to say. That is simply because my word is absolute and that I am never wrong about anything and never have been wrong in my life (*editor facepalms*). I do have to state that I can not prove this absolute obvious fact, but you are just going to have to believe me. Because hey, why wouldn’t you believe a stranger that you have never met that wrote an article about a purposeless topic because he was bored.

The best anime that has ever been created (and remember that my word is absolute) is by far, without a shadow of doubt is: Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure.  Now I am certain that almost everybody already saw this coming from a mile away. Even though this fact is so extremely obvious, I still feel the need to elaborate for those non-anime watchers with us.

For those who don’t know, Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure (also called JoJo) is an anime that features one protagonist from the Jojo family tree each season. Every season there is a different end boss / goal that the main team has to reach and defeat. This may sound like any other anime, but Jojo is different in the fact that the battle mechanism isn’t based on weapons or brawling, but on ‘stands’ (don’t ask about season 1). Stands are the physical manifestation of one’s willpower / mental power. This results in all kinds of stands that can do all kinds of things, like resurrecting animal corpses into invisible carnivores, or 1 that can erase anything and anyone with a swipe of his right hand or even one that can create zippers everywhere to unzip terrain and people.

These stands / abilities are what make Jojo so much fun, you never know what kind of enemy is lurking around the corner to stop the main team from reaching their goal. This and the fact that Jojo is heavily inspired by culture, featuring African, European, American and Asian culture all in 1 series. These 2 key components combined is what makes Jojo so incredibly popular and fun.

Jojo is still relevant to this day and age. Jojo does not have ‘seasons’ but instead have these things called parts. Parts are similar to seasons but the difference is that they are completely different from previous parts and that they may not even follow the same character cast or setting. This is another thing that makes Jojo so much fun, because the parts are so different and unique. You never know what is going to happen in the next part, or even episode.

So to answer the question ‘’What is the best anime?’’ then my answer would be Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure, Just because of the cool characters and the insanely diverse story that it tells so beautifully that it resembles a van Gogh painting. Therefore, I highly recommend everybody to watch and / or read Jojo at least once in their lives.
